Chelsea vs PSG: prediction & betting odds 13 July 2025

The final of the 2025 Club World Cup between Chelsea (England) and PSG (France) will take place on July 13 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, USA. Chelsea vs. PSG: prediction and betting odds, statistics.

Chelsea

The Londoners are participating in the Club World Cup for the third time, reaching the final on each occasion, but securing gold only once in the 2021 edition. In the current tournament, Enzo Maresca's side finished second in Group D with two wins and one loss. Chelsea's playoff journey began against Benfica, which they overcame only after 120 minutes of play (1-1, extra time 3-0). In subsequent rounds, the English side faced Brazilian clubs, defeating Palmeiras (2-1) and Fluminense (2-0). Notably, the British team has scored in each of their last eight Club World Cup matches.

  • No more than three goals have been scored in regular time in 8 of Chelsea's last 9 Club World Cup games.
  • The Londoners have not lost after 90 minutes in 7 of their last 8 matches in the tournament (5 wins and 2 draws).
  • In their last 10 matches in this tournament, the English side has conceded more than one goal in regular time only once.

Chelsea Starting Lineup (4-5-1)

Robert Sanchez – Malo Gusto, Levi Colwill, Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Cucurella – Reece James, Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto – Joao Pedro Jesus.

Defender Benoit Badiashile will miss the match due to injury.

PSG

The Parisians are playing in the Club World Cup for the first time in their history, yet they are winning with remarkable ease. Like their opponents, the team secured two wins and one loss in the group stage. In the round of 16, the French side easily dispatched Inter Miami, scoring four unanswered goals. They continued their streak with clean-sheet victories in the subsequent stages: defeating Bayern Munich 2-0 in the quarterfinals and then thrashing the most decorated club in Club World Cup history, Real Madrid, 4-0. It is also worth noting that PSG has conceded the fewest goals in this tournament, just one.

  • The French team has won 5 of their 6 matches in the Club World Cup, all with clean sheets.
  • In 5 of their 6 games in the current tournament, PSG won by at least a two-goal margin.
  • In all six of PSG's matches in the Club World Cup, one of the teams failed to score.

PSG Starting Lineup (4-3-3)

Gianluigi Donnarumma – Marquinhos, Lucas Beraldo, Nuno Mendes, Achraf Hakimi – Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Joao Neves – Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele.

Defenders Lucas Hernandez and William Pacho will not play due to suspension.

Chelsea vs. PSG: Match Prediction

I believe the English club will not be able to stop the Parisians, who are in incredible form. In my opinion, Chelsea reached the final largely due to a favorable draw that offered them less formidable opponents. Notably, Chelsea faced a European representative only once in this tournament – in the round of 16, where they only advanced past Benfica in extra time.

Meanwhile, the French side has played three matches against regular UEFA Champions League participants – Atletico, Bayern, and Real Madrid. PSG confidently won all these encounters by at least a two-goal margin, with the Madrid teams being thrashed 4-0. PSG's form is impressive; in their last nine matches in the UEFA Champions League and Club World Cup, the French team has secured eight victories, with a total score of an astonishing 24:2.

I believe the Champions League winner will prevail over the Conference League winner. In my view, the Parisians are currently on a different level, so my prediction is: PSG to Win

Betting tips 13 July 2025

For Chelsea, this match will be a major test of their resilience, particularly given the potential absences in central midfield. Paris Saint-Germain arrive in the final in excellent form, despite suspensions affecting their defensive line.

Chelsea have progressed through the knockout rounds with wins over Benfica (4:1 after extra time), Palmeiras (2:1), and Fluminense (2:0). However, none of these opponents were among the favourites to win the Club World Cup. Furthermore, the absence of Moisés Caicedo could significantly weaken the midfield. Romeo Lavia remains unavailable, and Dario Essugo is doubtful. As a result, the young Andrey Santos is expected to start. The head-to-head record against Paris Saint-Germain is not encouraging either – just two wins from eight meetings, with three defeats, including two losses in 2016.

Paris Saint-Germain have shown a dominant approach throughout the tournament: five wins from six matches with a combined goal difference of 16:1. In the semi-finals, they dismantled last season’s UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid with a 4:0 victory, having effectively settled the match by the 24th minute. Even in the absence of Lucas Hernandez and Willian Pacho, Paris Saint-Germain have demonstrated excellent organisation and balance across all areas. The return of Ousmane Dembélé has increased their attacking threat, while Fabián Ruiz has emerged as a surprise leader in the final third, scoring three goals in the tournament.

Paris Saint-Germain are currently the strongest club side in the world. They have confidently beaten top-level opposition and are expected to overcome Chelsea in this fixture. Chelsea might have the potential to offer resistance, but with their midfield options limited, the absence of Moisés Caicedo, and a poor historical record against Paris Saint-Germain, their chances appear slim. That’s why the backing goes to Paris Saint-Germain.
